Focus Session Speaker
Focus Sessions provide conference delegates with expert knowledge and insights and address one or more of the AFA Learning pillars. The Learning Pillars address critical issues, challenges and opportunities that contemporary financial advisers often encounter in their professional career:
- Business Growth: building a successful advice business through high performance, efficiency and best practice
- Professionalism: raising the standards of excellence to build Australia’s financial adviser profession
- Advice strategy: Advice know-how and technical strategies to help deliver better outcomes to your clients
- Innovation: ideas, trends and new technologies to challenge thinking and discover new ways to add business value.
Focus Session formats range from case study presentations, discussion forums or panels or hands-on interactive workshops.
Themes, formats and participants for Focus Sessions are ultimately decided on by the AFA Conference Committee, however we will welcome suggestions via formal submission for consideration in the Focus Session program.

Meet the Professional speakers are selected on a number of key criteria including the market within which they operate, their expertise in a particular product, technical skills, ability to negotiate or just share wisdom learned over the years.
Your topic should align with one of the AFA Learning Pillars. The Learning Pillars address critical issues, challenges and opportunities that contemporary financial advisers often encounter in their professional career:

Meet the Professional is presented via 2 sequential sessions. The speaker will present on the same topic twice, to a table of approx. 10 people. This open conversation session is for 30-40minutes with a 5 minute table change for delegates.

Meet the Innovator speakers are selected on a number of key criteria including the market within which they operate, their expertise in a particular product, technical skills, ability to negotiate or just share wisdom learned over the years.
The Meet the Innovator session is our way of bringing together the newest and brightest ideas so delegates can hear practical examples of how you can assist them in building their advice business.
